“Often, it’s not about becoming a new person, but becoming the person you were meant to be, and already are, but don’t know how to be.”
–Heath L. Buckmaster (Box of Hair: A Fairy Tale)

Counseling has been shown to be very effective in helping you to become the “you” that you are meant to be.  The process can he an uphill climb, but the view can be wonderful from the top once you see how far you have come.  Struggles, past experiences, relationship troubles, past trauma, low self esteem, depression, and lack of support may have stunted your growth and therapy can help give you the tools necessary to discover the “New You.”  Let me help you on your journey as we work together to chart your life’s course.

Marriage and Couples Counseling

I offer Pre-Marital, Marital and Couples counseling. I work with all couples including adolescent couples, dating, engaged, military, same sex, co-habitation, married, new parents, blended family couples, co-parenting or ex’s (divorced), Christian, non-religious, as well as non-romantic couples such as friendships.  I am skilled in working with affairs, trust issues, “roommate-syndrome”, intimacy issues, communication problems, gaming or sexual addictions, excessive arguing, depression, parenting, coping with change, past trauma, and many other couple specific topics. I truly love working with couples to help them better their relationship. Our relationship with our chosen partners is one of the most important aspects of our lives and our happiness.  Doesn’t it make sense to invest as much as you can to the most important human relationship you will ever have?

Pre-Marital

I love helping engaged couples build their relationship toolbox with skills such as conflict resolution, communication, listening, asking for needs, validation of feelings and turning towards techniques so that they can pull from it when needed during their lifetime together. It is very important to learn the skills needed to have a successful marriage during the courtship and engaged stage of a relationship because this is when couples are the most open and receptive to work it takes to ensure success. Learning about the various stages of relationships, being educated on what potential threats can arise to jeopardize the marriage and preparing for the future together are also important pieces that I focus on in pre-marital therapy. My pre-marital counseling program is a tool building program that varies from the work done in the full couple’s therapy program, yet it is still tailored to each couple’s specific needs.

Individual Counseling

I provide my individual counseling clients with an open, supportive, and confidential environment which I find to be essential to address the issues that are concerning them. I always tailor my approach to the individual and their circumstances in order to help us work together to find solutions to the situations or stressors that they are facing. Individual counseling is very therapeutic and many of my clients report a sense or hope even after the first session.  Taking the steps to start improving their lives is encouraging and promising.  It takes courage to face life’s challenges and many of my clients report life changing progress once they begin the counseling journey.
